The story may seem like typical Hollywood fair and critics constantly moan about the "unoriginality" of it all, but hey, for the most part, it stuck true to the original show with some alterations to the story, so to call this a ripoff of Wall-E kinda tells me you never watched or even heard of the show.
I LOVED the action scenes in this. They were amazing to watch, and combined with fantastic visuals, it just worked and they didn't last too long, so the movie didn't feel padded out because of them.
I also like how this film, like many Pixar films, doesn't talk down to its audience. It deals with death, grief and finding one's place in the world, and it does have a very complex storyline, so clearly this film wasn't just intended for minors.
All in all, it's not exactly one of the greatest films of the year, but it's certainly a good one. I wouldn't exactly call it a must-add for your DVD collection but it's certainly worth checking out.
Final verdict:
Score- 7/10
Recommendation- Check it out at least once.
Would I get it on DVD?- Probably not.
